Jenee Fleenor: First Woman Nominated for Musician of the Year (2019)

A rather dubious fact surfaced after nominees were revealed for Musician of the Year (formerly known as Instrumentalist of the Year) in 2019: Fleenor, whose fiddling can be heard on Jon Pardi’s “Heartache Medication” and Blake Shelton’s “I Lived It,” among other songs, is the first fiddler nominated in the category since 2003 ... and the first woman on the ballot for an award that dates to 1967.

The 2019 CMA Awards are set for Nov. 13. The show will air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on ABC beginning at 8PM ET.
